It started with a kiss… No it didn’t but I wish it did. The man I had loved and lost many times was willing to return. 2020 February, we were going to meet. Not just any meet, but a trip to Oxford and a look around the art galleries and dinner after.
So excited, couldn’t wait. It had been 3 years since we last stopped seeing each other. Man I was excited. “is that okay with you, that we go out for the day, and not just meet in the pub for a quick one”.
Yes!!!! BUT…. yep lock down happened. Then I got caught up in my head and well, it didn’t happen.
I eventually, came to terms that he was seeing another lady. So not one for getting involved when they are dating, I butted out.
It hurt though.
That was my start to Lock down.
You may ask, why did I love lock down then. March 2020 to August 2020. I had just qualified as a educator and I was having a tough time in the classroom. I had difficulty understanding how to teach the many needs of the cohort. To address behaviour and keep up with the rigorous pace of the teaching environment. Every stakeholder wanted something from you. Think of a bicycle wheel and you are the centre. All the spokes are stakeholders… Phew it was challenging.
Along comes LOCKDOWN… working from home. A chance to reflect, rethink, reorganise and educate from the computer.
Thank you for the pause, thank you for stopping the treadmill. Thank you for the breathing space.
The only problem with this was the need to be at the computer for most of the day. My chair was getting uncomfortable, (and it was a computer, swivel chair), my kitchen table reassigned. My daughter banned from the kitchen/classroom whilst I was attending meetings with my washing up showing in the background. I got better at organising my background, and would put a vase of tulips on display.
This was the start of ‘putting the pounds on’
This is my journey to taking the pounds off and maybe some love stuff, if I’m lucky🙏
